the tradition of the first set of scriptures when you are baptized.

We had the most wonderful day last weekend. My little Keannabear was baptized. The day went by way to fast! I woke up that morning and asked my Heavenly Father to please help me relax, enjoy and take in every precious moment of that day. I always tend to get very up tight the "morning of" important days and seem to ruin the spirit of it all! Despite of all the stress the day before in getting your home clean, food prepared, clothes pressed ect.... I was relaxed that moring and as a result so was my family.
The night before Jarad spent some time with Keanna and they practiced and talked about the choice she was about to make. I asked her that moring if she was nervous and she shrugged her shoulders and said "should I be?"
It was so special as we arrived at the stake center and picked up her clothes then went to the dressing room and helped her get dressed. She was not thrilled about the jump suit she had to wear but when I told her that I had to get dunked 3 times because my dress kept floating up, she had that suit zipped up in no time!!
There were 2 other kids getting baptized from our ward that day to. In our stake there would be 250 kids baptized in 6 months!! So they have it down to a science! It went very smooth.
First there was a talk on baptism from one family, then each family took turns going into the font room. Keanna was first. They had me wait in the back to help her out and giver her a towel when she was done. So I saw her get baptised from the back :( I did get to take a cool picture as she was walking up out of the font.
After she was ready we went back into the culture hall and her Grandma Camille gave a great talk about the Holy Ghost. The tears were flowing just in time for her to be confirmed. Her Dad then confirmed her. Wow was that a special moment. When she came back down to sit by me all I could do was hug her and cry. I was so proud of her and at the same time, sad because she was growing up.
She had many family members and friends there to support her. A big thank you to all those that came and shared her special day with us! Thank you for all the sweet gifts also.
